RLC Remote Panel

The RLC Remote Panel (also known as the Mimic Panel) enables the status of lights of a designeted helipad to be monitored and controlled by pairing it with an RLC controlling the lights. A wireless link is established using SMS messages between GSM modules in both the RLC and Mimic Panel. The Mimic can be any distance from the RLC as long as both have GSM network coverage.

The Mimic Panel is typically situated in the control centre of Accident and Emergency departments in hospitals and monitors the status of the hospital helipad lights. In the case of very 'deep' buiuldings with poor or no network coverage, the GSM module can be remotely located at the edge of the building and connected to the panel over an RS-232 link.

As well as receiving alerts from the helipad that the lights have been activated, staff in A&E can also turn on the helipad lights from the Mimic Panel.
