The Remote Lighting Controller (RLC) offers a unique combination of both VHF and GSM-SMS control and monitoring of helipad lights and peripheral equipment. The unit is available as VHF only, SMS only and combined VHF/SMS. Options include a Remote/Mimic station to control or simply monitor the system.

The FEC Remote Lighting Controller (version 1) offers:

  • Three 20 Amp heavy duty relays in the box - enables linked peripheral shutdown
  • Programmable time-out from 1 to 60 minutes
  • Local and remote test and diagnostics integrated into the unit
  • Very low power consumption - Approx. 3W (idle) and less than 30W max. (when internal winter heater on)
  • Operates from 110-240V AC 50-60Hz or 12V DC (ideal for solar and batteries)
  • Direct system control through keypad (with PIN security)
  • Weather station interface

VHF Receiver

  • Traditional VHF Pilot Controlled Lighting (PLC) configuration
  • 25kHz channel spacing VHF receiver
  • Simple frequency setting through front panel - no fiddley switches
  • Defined number of presses to activate Circuits 1, 2 or 3
  • Programmable time-out period
  • VHF operation can be remotely enabled/disabled for extra security

GSM/SMS Transceiver

  • FCC/EU approved, Integrated tri-band GSM Telemetry Engine for SMS control
  • Secure PIN code protected SMS commands to monitor and control your installation
  • Secure SMS status reporting - check out your installation before taking off
  • Remotely activate Circuits 1, 2 or 3 and have the status sent straight back to your mobile

Options

  • UHF (868MHz) transceiver for wireless control of FEC Battery HeliLights (not currently in USA)
  • Optional MetPak weather station for meteorological information from your helipad. Data includes:
    • Wind direction and speed
    • Temperature, Dew Point and Relative Humidity, and
    • Pressure
